each year depending on the financial situation of the Society. Grants, once awarded
will not be increased or reduced.

3. The general assembly will determine the amount granted for the following year.

4. The $5000 can be awarded to a single grant or to several small grant applications.

Dates for grant submission and awards

1. Notification of the deadline for the submission of the grant will be announced on
the ISVD website and by the ISVD list-serve no later than September each year.

2. Grant applications must be submitted by January 15 each year.

3. Applicants of awarded grants will be notified by March 31 each year.

4. The general assembly will be notified about the awarded grants over the list-serve

Evaluation of the grants

1. Grants will be submitted to the acting past-president of the society, who will remove the
cover page (page 1) and forward copies of each grant (part 2 to 9) to the committee members.

2. The grant reviewing committee will consist of three members: two members from the board and
one member from the general assembly. Two members of the committee will be pathologists.

3. Each committee member will review each grant without knowledge of the name of the investigators
and the institutions involved
and rank them independently.

4. The committee will then decide as a group which grant(s) will be funded.

5. Should they not come to an agreement, two additional members of the board will be added to
the committee in an attempt to come to a decision.
